In the past it was good. All wolves, working together to achieve a better world in Translucence. It was a haven; a place of safety, rest, and happiness. Thick, lush forests were framed by rolling meadows. Tall, luminous mountains overlooked calm lakes and winding streams. Life-rich marshes met a clear blue ocean, riddled with regal seabirds and vibrant species of fish. It was nothing short of the Garden of Eden for the wolven kind, though, as proved in history, no paradise can last.[/color]
The new generations became spoiled and took their luxuries for granted, growing resentful of one another because of their differences. They wrote off the stories and warnings of their elders, and eventually divided into two separate groups all together. First, there were the noble and good-hearted, who were eventually dubbed the “Devouts”. They commonly shared food and eagerly accepted anyone who needed a home into their ranks, regardless of their age or physical stature. Stalking in the shadows were the “Corrupts”, who had a very different style of living. Amongst them dwelled the rapists, murderers, and all-around cold-hearted, though not all of them were barbarians.
As each side settled into their territories, they divided themselves into three packs, six all together in the once untied lands of Translucence. All of the elders who once scolded the population for their lack of acceptance of one another had passed, and there was no one to stop the madness that swelled within their kind. The main Devout pack was the Monarchy, flanked by the Echo Pack and the Dinen Pack. Within the Corrupt ranks were the Shibito and Erebos pack, who stood in the shadows of the mighty Dictatorship pack. For a few seasons, each pack happily lived within it’s own lands. However, when the prey migrated, they came face to face with one another and were reminded of the reason of the division.
It wasn’t long until all Hell broke loose, and the Corrupts were at war with the Devouts. Each side lost a great deal of valuble life, and it all became worse when Mother Nature became a third party. An unforgivable winter brought hunger and fatigue, and still the wolves raged on in battle. Years passed, and smoke began to plume from the volcanic mountain, and it was with an almighty and terrifying sound that Mt. Lupan erupted, coating the area with ash and lava. It was only after this the wolves looked around at the devastation.
It was with heavy hearts that every single member of the Shibito and Dinen pack were buried, each wiped completely from the face of the Earth. Fianally, after all these years, the wolves of Translucence held something in common; the need to mourn their loved ones. The need to fight had receded in their blood and an uneasy truce was formed, though one never forgot the face of the opposite side who shredded his brother in battle.___________________________________
However, that was a long time ago. It has been said that history is bound to repeat itself, which is why humans document everything. As far as I know, us wolves can’t write. Makes it a little hard to “document”, don’t you think? The newer generations are again beginning to rise, and the lines between Corrupt and Devout are becoming sharper by the day. It seems as though fighting will emerge from the depths again, but who knows what will stop it this time around?
